Adoption Process

At Cat Cafe Meow & Mocha, we strive to ensure that each cat finds a loving and permanent home. Our adoption process is designed to match our rescue cats with responsible and caring adopters who will provide them with a safe and nurturing environment.

Adopting a cat is a significant decision that requires careful consideration. Before making the choice to adopt, we encourage prospective adopters to spend time getting to know the cats in our cafe. Our friendly staff are available to provide information about each cat’s personality, likes, and dislikes to help you make an informed decision.

We also recommend considering the following:

  • If cats are particularly bonded or are siblings or mother and son, we encourage adopting them together as pairs to ensure they continue to thrive in a familiar and supportive environment.
  • Assess your lifestyle and living situation to determine if you have the time, resources, and commitment to provide proper care and attention to a cat.
  • Consider any existing pets in your home and how they might adjust to a new feline family member.

Once you’ve decided to adopt, you’ll need to complete an adoption application. This application helps us understand your preferences, living situation, and ability to care for a cat. You can obtain an adoption application form from our staff at the cafe.

After submitting your adoption application, our staff will review it to ensure it meets our adoption criteria. As part of the approval process, we require prospective adopters to send proofs to our partner foundation who rescues the cats. These proofs demonstrate your commitment to providing a loving and stable home for the cat and include:

  • Evidence of vaccinations and preventive healthcare for any current pets in your household.
  • Assurance that you will provide a healthy and safe environment for the adopted cat, including proper nutrition, shelter, and veterinary care.
  • A pledge that you will not abandon or surrender the cat to the streets, shelters, or any other unsafe environment.

If your adoption application is approved and you’ve met all the requirements, you’ll be contacted by our staff to schedule a final adoption appointment. During this appointment, you’ll sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps support our rescue efforts and the care of other cats in need.

Congratulations! You’re now ready to welcome your new feline friend into your home and begin a lifetime of love and companionship.
